Childhood Health Assessment Questionnaire (CHAQ)
CHAQ is one of the most widely used patient or caregiver reported outcome measures of physical functioning among children. Initially developed for use in children with Juvenile Arthritis, CHAQ has been validated in several other pediatric conditions including lupus, dermatomyositis/polymyositis, cerebral palsy, mucopolysaccharidosis etc. CHAQ and its various versions demonstrate good reliability, validity, and responsiveness. They are simple, brief, easy to use, and have been adapted for use in multiple countries and languages.
CHAQ is available in two versions – parent/caregiver reported (PV) and patient/child reported (CV). PV is suggested for children 1-12 years of age, while CV has been validated in children 12 and over.
